Walking in Sidney Woods
The Rambling Group met at Sidney Woods for our October ramble, ably led by David Y as our leader, Graeme R, had sadly been struck down with a temperature and headache that morning.
Sidney Woods lies to the west of Alfold and is largely cut in two by the derelict Wey & Arun Canal which was water in places but is mainly dry. We were lucky with the weather in that it didn’t rain but it had been raining for for days earlier so it was very muddy in places and we all had great lumps of clay stuck to our boots. Probably a walk to revisit in the Summer!
