Eight amblers plus two guests braved the weather and came on this amble. Most of us met at Secrets farm shop car park to car share as the parking at Black Down can be difficult.
We started our walk from the NT car park in Tennyson’s Lane.
When I recced the walk back in November the last of the autumn colours were glorious but by now the trees were all bare. At the start of the walk, we saw a ‘Giant Panda’ in the distance. As we got closer it turned out to be a Belted Galloway, with a few more a bit further on. On the southward side there was some work going on with some small fires burning.
The weather stayed dry and we had some great views. Although it was it bit muddy in places it was all fairly passable.
Here is the route map. This is the one recorded from my recce with Paul a few weeks earlier. We followed the route without too many problems.
